Agricultural Journalist & Communications Specialist

Hello, I'm Loz James. I write about agriculture from inside the industry, not as an outside observer.

Loz James Agricultural Journalist

I'm an agricultural journalist and communications specialist based on the Essex/Suffolk border, who also manages a 400-acre sheep farm in Perthshire. Before this, I spent 25 years writing for organisations like Royal Bank of Scotland, British Airways, and Harrods.

Why I'm Different

Most agricultural journalists learn about farming from interviews and farm visits. I oversee a sheep business finishing 700 lambs yearly while managing grassland and estate operations.I am currently completing SRUC's Agricultural Communications and Journalism course.I'm BBC-trained, NCTJ-accredited, and hold an MA in Screenwriting from Edinburgh Napier University.I've produced nearly 100 episodes of a top-20 UK marketing podcast and built a freelance practice serving blue-chip clients across financial services, retail, transport, and professional services. Now I'm bringing that communications expertise to the sector I know best.
